LOCATION OVERVIEW
Tobiano is set upon a gentle 1,000-acre rise overlooking the pristine waters of 20-mile long Kamloops Lake - an additional 17,000 - acre wilderness backyard accentuates Tobiano's spectacular setting.

Its pedestrian-friendly village, resort accommodations and recreational amenities complement the understated natural beauty of British Columbia's easily accessible Thompson-Okanagan region. While Tobiano seems as if it is worlds away from everything urban, it is only 15 minutes from the cultural amenities, shopping and services of the lively City of Kamloops. Near the junction of Western Canada's three most popular tourism highways (TransCanada, Yellowhead and the Coquihalla) Tobiano is just over three hours by car from Vancouver, Whistler and the U.S. border. Tobiano is an easy drive to Seattle and the scenic destinations of Jasper, Edmonton, Banff and Calgary. Frequent flights to Vancouver, Calgary and Seattle from Kamloops Airport connect Tobiano to destinations further afield.

CLIMATE AND TERRAIN
Over 2,000 hours of sunshine and less than eight inches of rain a year, Tobiano's dry hot summers and crisp winter days create one of the most desirable climates in the country.

Summers are long and dry. Winters are short but welcome, turning backcountry lakes and trails into a winter playground.

The semi-desert climate at Tobiano sustains rolling hills of grasslands, wild sagebrush, ponderosa pine and prickly pear cactus - a dramatic contrast from the rugged mountains of the Rockies and the humid rainforest of the Pacific coast.

HISTORY
Originally home to the ancient Secwepemc people, the region's first European settlers were drawn here by the fur trade and later by the mid-nineteenth century Gold Rush. Cowboys and cattle ranchers followed not long after. When the Canadian Pacific Railway laid tracks in the late 1800s, displacing the paddle wheelers and wagon-trains before them, a wave of homesteading immigrants arrived to the area. Among them were the founders of Six Mile Ranch - now home to Tobiano.

Six Mile Ranch is testimony to this land's hardscrabble heritage - a heritage that is integral to the plans for Tobiano. As a residential and resort community, Tobiano residents can reconnect with the land's agricultural, ranching and equestrian heritage.

Today you can still feel the spirit of the hardy souls who tamed the land, looking for life's elusive rewards. Only now these rewards - live, rest and play - can be found at Tobiano.

BIGGEST BACKYARD OVERVIEW
Watch an eagle circle above Tobiano's scenic 15th hole. Urge a canter at the Equestrian Centre. Trim the luff from your sail. Focus your binoculars on a nesting pair of loons. Smell the sage while hiking or biking backcountry trails. Listen for the paddle's cadence with each stroke. Wait patiently for proof of your day's 'big catch'. Watch the setting sun paint the iron-rich mountains a crimson red. Find your sign in the vast evening sky. Strap on your snowshoes after a new fallen snow... The only thing bigger than your Tobiano backyard is the contentment you will feel at the end of each day. If your desire for adventure takes you further down the road...

Set fresh tracks in the champagne powder of the Cariboo and Monashee ranges with Mike Weigele Helicopter Skiing.

Gear up for a Kamloops downhill mountain biking adventure - favoured by extreme sport cinematographer Warren Miller as the Mountain Biking Mecca of Canada.

Hike to Helmcken Falls in Wells Gray Park - an intense natural waterfall twice the height of Niagara Falls.

Observe the annual Adams River Salmon Run - where two million sockeye return from the ocean to spawn new life.

Run the rapids of the Fraser or Thompson Rivers.

Search for gemstones or fossil hunt on Kamloops Lake's north shore.

Ski 2,000 vertical metres of 'steep and deep' at Sun Peaks Resort, less than an hour from Tobiano.

Boat from Tobiano along the South Thompson River all the way to the Shuswap Lakes.

MARINA
Tobiano's 100-slip public marina on the shore of Kamloops Lake will offer Tobiano residents preferential mooring privileges and access to twenty miles of Kamloops Lake shoreline and ample surface area for power-boating, sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking and swimming.

EQUESTRIAN CENTRE
When complete, this year-round indoor/outdoor facility will provide stables, paddocks, arenas, tack shop and riding lessons, offering both English and Western instruction. The Tobiano Equestrian Centre will also offer hunter/jumper clinics, workshops and guided backcountry tours with easy access to miles of wilderness riding trails.

VILLAGE LIFE
You will feel even more connected to your new community when you stroll the 'Main Street' of Tobiano Village. See what's new in the gallery and artisan's shops, discuss a favorite reserve with the local vintner or catch-up with friends in the village coffee shop or specialty grocer.

DEVELOPMENT TEAM
PAGEBROOK
By no means is Michael Grenier your average developer. Nor is Pagebrook Inc. your average development company.

Astounded by the untouched lakeside acreage surrounding Six Mile Ranch, Mike purchased the Tobiano property in 1996 and moved from Toronto to live here in this vast open setting. He had big plans - starting with his own home at Tobiano - an award-winning example of post-and-beam architecture that fits perfectly within its natural surroundings.

Applying the development experience and success of Pagebrook Inc. to the vision of Tobiano, Mike began the process of shepherding Tobiano through a labyrinth of reviews and approvals, expanding the Six-Mile alfalfa hayfields, improving the ranch's irrigation systems, building the first marina on Kamloops Lake and initiated the design and construction of the soon-to-be opened Tobiano golf course - all before the first selection of resort homes were offered for sale.

Michael's father, Bill, established Pagebrook Inc. more than thirty-five years ago and built the family business into a Canadian success story. Well-respected in the industry, Pagebrook has developed close to forty residential, hospitality and commercial projects within Canada, the U.S. the Caribbean and the Pacific rim.

Throughout its history, and continuing with Tobiano, Pagebrook Inc. retains its commitment to customer satisfaction, operational integrity and project success.
